About me
Driven to represent Ceredigion Penfro, I am committed to bringing positive changes to our community. My campaign is built on the values of the Labour Party, and I aim to address the concerns and aspirations of all residents through dedicated support and connection.
What Drives Me to Represent Ceredigion Penfro
My decision to stand for Ceredigion Penfro is rooted in a deep commitment to the people, culture, and future of our communities. This is one of the most beautiful and diverse parts of Wales, yet too often our voices are overlooked in decisions made far from here. I want to ensure that the people of Ceredigion Penfro are listened to, respected, and empowered.
I am driven by a desire to protect what makes this area special our language, our environment, our rural economy while also ensuring that future generations have the opportunities they deserve to live, work, and thrive here.
The Specific Changes I Hope to Bring
- Stronger Local Economy – Support small businesses, family farms, and local producers by pushing for fair funding, investment in rural enterprises, and more opportunities for young people to build their future here.
- Better Transport & Infrastructure – Improve public transport links, road safety, and digital connectivity so that no community feels cut off or left behind.
- Affordable Housing – Ensure local people can afford to live in their own communities by tackling second-home pressures and pushing for more genuinely affordable housing.
- Protecting Our Environment – Safeguard our coastline, farmland, and wildlife while supporting a fair transition to renewable energy that benefits local people.
- Investing in Health & Education – Secure fair funding for our schools, hospitals, and GP services, ensuring that rural areas like ours are not forgotten.
- Welsh Language & Culture – Promote and protect the Welsh language and celebrate our cultural heritage as central to the identity and strength of Ceredigion–Penfro.

A Defining Moment in My Commitment to Labour
My commitment to the Labour Party is rooted in real experiences of seeing how inequality affects people’s daily lives. One defining moment came through my work as a UNISON trade union activist. I stood alongside colleagues who were fighting for fair pay, safe working conditions, and the dignity that every worker deserves.
I witnessed first-hand how cuts, underfunding, and political decisions made far from our communities directly impacted the people providing vital public services. Listening to care workers describe struggling to afford heating while working long hours, or hospital staff stretched to breaking point, made it clear to me that change was not just desirable—it was necessary.
In those moments, the values of the Labour movement were not abstract principles; they were lived realities. Solidarity, fairness, and collective action were what gave people the strength to stand up for themselves and each other. Being part of those campaigns confirmed to me that only Labour has the values and vision to deliver real justice for working people.
That experience cemented my belief that politics must always be about giving a voice to those too often ignored, and it strengthened my resolve to represent Ceredigion–Penfro with the same determination I bring to my trade union activism.
